help finding snake tattoo!

  • Dec. 16th, 2009 at 12:14 AM
Someone posted a painting, I think, of 2 snakes. Both of them had roses and both of them had human heads. One of the heads was a gypsy or a victorian era woman, the other was the head of a gentleman.

I've been wanting to find this image for a while since I'd like to use it as inspiration for my first sleeve. If anyone could post it or point to the direction that I might find it, that'd be awesome!

PS. I checked the tags with no luck. :(

Advice Please=-)

I am setting up to get a new tattoo. I saw this local artists drawing of a Seahorse and sort of fell in love with the image. I sent a picture of it to my tattoo artist and he didn't seem to get it, he said he would be able to draw a better seahorse. I would love some input. I have the artists permission to post this. I like it and think it would be cute, but if too many people think it looks stupid, I won't get it.

i just recently got my hip done and i was just wondering how the healing process went for anyone elses hips. i have my ribs done and that healed just fine, the only difference between that and the new one is that i've been using petroleum jelly on this one, instead of the tattoo goo that i was using on my side.

around the edges of the tatto it's red and the tattoo itself is swollen, but doesn't feel hot to the touch. also, i wore jeans the past few days (dumb idea, i know, i thought it would be alright) so i don't know if that's what caused the irritation or if the petroleum jelly did.

thanks in advance :)

so because i'm so scatterbrained, i lost the sheet that my tattoo artist gave me on instructions...

i just want to make sure i'm doing this right.

i've been washing it with antibacterial soap and putting A&D on it 3 times a day for 2 days now. its the 3rd day now, should i be putting A&D on it still, or switching to a lotion?

I got Aveeno Daily moisturizing lotion... is that okay?

i just don't want to mess it up XD

how often do i put the lotion on?

Kneecap Tattoo

  • Dec. 12th, 2009 at 12:45 PM
Hello! I posted a while back asking about kneecap tattoos (http://community.livejournal.com/tradtattoos/972530.html) and shortly afterwards decided to take the bull by the horns and go for it! So I booked myself in.

I brought my friend for moral support as I had heard so much bad stuff with regards to the pain, but I have to say I didn't really find it that much different to other tattoos I have had. I am not sure if this is because Paul Slifer is really fast and it didn't seem so bad, but either way quite an enjoyable tattoo experience! Infact I am thinking about what to get on my right kneecap now! Although the aftermath is a lot of hobbling...

I went to Paul Slifer at Red Hot and Blue in Edinburgh. I asked for a traditional style flower and butterfly with contrasting colours. The outline is bright turquoise and the petals are hot pink, but my phone pics are uncapable of showing this!

Robot Roll Call! )

The owl/moon piece is older. I got it when I was 18, and I hate it. But I think the MST3K crew changes everything-- of course they're making fun of it, it sucks! I was going to get it covered or redone, but now I think I'll leave it. :)

My other nerdy tattoos are Leela on my leg, and the Triforce on my shoulder. Pics behind the cut! )

New Tattooer

  • Dec. 10th, 2009 at 8:39 PM
I did this on my boyfriend's bandmate. He wanted a cheeseburger. I was more inclined to.... not do a cheeseburger, lol So I pitched him with this idea. His dog is a Boston Terrier.

The right ear is diminished because it wraps around a little... and I am anxious to see how it heals. It will be lighter than it appears here and I'm hoping that's the case in the crossbones.

This is tattoo #9.

The Game

  • Dec. 10th, 2009 at 3:44 PM
i was reading an article about hip hop artist The Game and a tattoo he just got inked.

http://www.rap-up.com/2009/12/09/game-shows-loyalty-to-pharrell-with-tattoo/

the article later revealed a piece he is intending on getting. the piece is influenced by the evolution of video games.
